Sideload the acestream engine apk from the acestream website.

Then go to settings>system>developer options> and change 'apps from unknown sources' to ON and 'adb debugging' to ON

I'm guessing most of you already know how to do this (you're running kodi on firetv after all) but I'm going to outline the easiest ways I've found to do this. We have to sideload the acestream engine app. This is why fire tv is a bit of a pain compared to stock android. Open a web browser and download and install 'only the engine' from the acestream website.

Go to settings>security>Unknown sources and tick the box to 'allow installation of apps from unknown sources'.

Close kodi and go back to your android homescreen.

It's a third party app so you'll need to change some settings in android or fire tv. That's plexus installed but to get it to work you need to install a separate app on your device.

System>settings>addons>install from repo>tvaddons repo>programs>plexus.

System>settings>addons>install from zip>.fusion>xbmc repos>english>xbmchub.

Open kodi and go to system> file manager> add source and type the url in this pic.

(If you don't get the prompt I'm afraid you'll have to start over and try again)

Say no to every prompt and let plexus download the modules.

Go to programs>plexus and open the addon.

Open kodi and navigate to system>settings>addons>install from zip>that zip file you just downloaded.

Download this zip file and save it somewhere handy.

Please note this is a temporary solution I found on the tvaddons forum. A great way to find and watch acestreams is through kodi.
